VINTAGE SEPTEMBER 12, 1963
As we all know, my dear sister Jena is about to celebrate a remarkable milestone in her life—her 60th birthday! She has not only been an amazing sister but also my best friend, confidante, and partner in countless adventures. To mark this special occasion, I've decided to create a tribute website dedicated to celebrating the wonderful person that Jena is.
I invite each and every one of you to join me in making this tribute truly special by sharing your cherished memories and photos of Jena. Let's fill this website with stories that reflect the incredible journey of her life and the impact she's had on all of us. I've prepared a few relevant questions for all of us to answer, so let's gather our thoughts and memories to create a heartfelt gift that will remind Jena of the love and friendship she's surrounded by. Your contributions will make this 60th birthday a celebration she'll cherish forever. Thank you for being a part of this wonderful endeavor!
Happy 60th Birthday! What a wonderful life you and I have had together! We have lived together, starting with sleeping in the same bed-with dolls down the middle to set boundaries. We eventually had 2 beds but shared a bedroom. We were labeled differently with you being "beautiful" and me being "smart." As you are 4 years younger, we were in different stages of life as we grew up. You were the goofy younger sister who made worm necklaces, played pranks on the neighbors, and talked about a Tide commercial after rolling in the dirt. I was responsible older sister and In later years, I remember staying up on weekend nights wondering where you were and if you were going to get home safely-while Mom and Dad slept soundly. And you were always having fun! But having fun is only part of your life story... You are fun and.. Smart-You worked in the Real Estate business and up to Marketing Director for North America for CBRE., working long hours and managing boatloads of people and projects. Yes you are"beautiful" and "smart." Organized-Anyone know anyone else who can pull off an event like you? Adventurous-Getting your pilot's license, traveling around the world with Semester at Sea, traveling to Africa and South America and many other places. A good friend-You have so many friends! Devoted-God love you for taking care of Shelly in her struggle with breast cancer and at the end of her life and for befriending her girls. God love you for devoting yourself to taking care of mom in her last years of life and for working to keep things organized on the home front. A wonderful sister, wife, daughter, step-mom, aunt, etc etc Bottom line, you are the whole package, maximizing life, and we all have benefited. I am so grateful that I have shared life with you!

What are your funniest memories of Jena?
Crank calls! Jena is the master and I think all of us have either made one with her or been the recipient-whether you knew it or not. There was the call to a young male friend from the "police" saying that his friend was in jail for masturbating in public and that he was the one the friend requested to pick him up-but first he had to go clean up the mess on the wall at the Burger King bathroom where the deed occurred. The call to a friend who sold commercial food from the" restaurant owner" saying " This is baaaad chicken! " and going on to repeatedly complain about it. The call to a friend who had just purchased a used truck in Montana and had driven it to his home in California from the" police" who said that it was stolen and he needed to drive it right back. The call to friend from a distant "relative" congratulating the woman on her engagement and persistently asking to sing at the wedding. The call from the estranged "girlfriend" to her ex who was with his new girlfriend insisting that she wanted him back. The call to a young man saying that the sponsorship of his electric vehicle team by the university was canceled-but that a company was stepping in-a tampon company with the condition that the tampon advertisement go on the side of the car. Call from young niece and nephew to their uncle saying that they were lost and were abandoned in a field and needed to be picked up. And more than one phone call informing people or their mothers about being diagnosed with STDs. So beware!
How has Jena impacted your life?
You have taught me to lighten up and have more fun along the way. I was always more serious, driven to achieve my calling to become and work as a physician. But watching you, I have learned that one can be serious but also have fun. Of course I will never be as fun as you!
What else would you like to share about Jena?
We have shared a lifetime of adventures! Europe trip ages 5,3,1. You left your blankie in a city and mom had to drive back through rush hour to get it. you got your arm stuck in an umbrella stand in Italy creating a gathering of clucking Italians trying to get it out. Lots of fun times in Montana-including all the parties! Old people, Christmas, Renaissance, Hard Times, Ladies Day Out, Cowboys and Indians, etc. Always ending with egg toss and Eat the Worm. Eastern Europe with mom and me. Remember the nude men in the steam room, running out of the restaurant and speeding off, and of course being completely lost in Bulgaria ending with us under the chairs laughing our heads off as the blind choir from Sophia sang Bones dem Bones dem Dry Bones. Germany with me, Andrew, and Matthew-Who can forget Andrew setting off the alarm and running from the bathroom attendant, the boys picking coins out of the fountain, the boys asking for money outside the bathroom, and of course the infamous monkey bars with Matthew. Italy with me, Andrew, and Matthew-touring penis renditions at Pompeii with Lula, the boys collecting farts in a coke bottle while we drove.
