Jena, I have been blessed to be your friend and grateful to know you. You have introduced me to some wonderful people including Pend. I love your view of the world and life. You really are a good person with a great heart and big faith. Cheers to you and Pend!
  • I first met Jena & Pend:
I first met Jena through our friend Betsy Lane Hernberg in San Francisco. I am originally from Chicago which gave us an immediate connection. We got closer on the annual ski trips. It is so fun to travel with Jena. Exploring San Francisco and reaching for the stars brought us together!

Jena- beautiful, funny, loyal, creative and a great friend. Pend- lucky, handsome and cool.
  • My best memories of Jena & Pend are:
My best memory of Jena was her love and care for Karen Gilbert RIP. My tan and black outfitted friends. We had some good times singing Sweet Caroline at apre ski happy hours! My favorite memory of Pend is meeting him in Montana.

  • I first met Jena & Pend:
Jena and I met in college and later became best friends when I moved to Chicago in 1998 when Monica (Harper) Muschalik encouraged us to connect. On our first get together, Jena drove down Lake Shore Drive during the Air & Water Show and pulled over so I could see the airplanes fly overhead. This doesn't seem nutty unless you're familiar with the crowds and traffic in Chicago. I soon discovered that she was game for anything and made everything we did more fun. I didn't meet Pend until the bridal shower in July 2015. He arrived with a bottle of Pendleton Whiskey as a hostess gift, which was perfect.
  • Five adjectives I would use to describe Jena & Pend are:
Fun Loving, Hard Working, Charming, Thoughtful and Spontaneous
  • My best memories of Jena & Pend are:
Standing at the alter at Flathead Lake, Montana on August 1, 2015, and watching them giggle at each other during their oath of marriage.
  • I'd like to offer the following advice for a successful marriage:
Make each other a priority, be considerate of each other's passions and friends, support one another no matter what and always kiss at the end of the day
  • What do you think attracted Pend to Jena and Jena to Pend?
I'm betting Jena found Pend to be attractive, charming, intelligent, hard working and husband material from the get-go; Pend probably found Jena 'hot'!
  • If you attended their wedding weekend, what was your favorite experience or memory?
My favorite memories were the few hours leading up to the wedding when the bridesmaids got to spend time alone with Jena and later when Jena greeted Pend in her wedding dress before the bridal party arrived for pictures. Made me cry (with joy)!

Lots of "firsts" for Jena and Pend this year. Who knew moving to Nashville would lead to so much sparkle?!?!?!
  • I first met Jena & Pend:
Their wedding!!! I had heard many great things about this arctic fox she was falling in love with, but never actually met him until Montana.
  • Five adjectives I would use to describe Jena & Pend are:
Witty + Inspiring + In Love + Driven + Complete
  • My best memories of Jena & Pend are:
Be all in. Make laughter the soundtrack of your marriage. Share moments of joy, and even in the hard times, find reasons to laugh. Falling in love and saying "I do" is the easy part.
  • I'd like to offer the following advice for a successful marriage:
Hold on a second (picking up the magic 8-ball and giving it a shake)...results say "It is certain"...!
  • What do you think attracted Pend to Jena and Jena to Pend?
Not sure. Was it charm, charisma, spirit, good food? Whatever it was, it must have been great! I've enjoyed seeing their adventures on Facebook and am happy (according to Jena's Dad) Pend's gambling, historic lineage and unwillingness to leave after the first eight nights of dating didn't scare her away.
  • If you attended their wedding weekend, what was your favorite experience or memory?
Who doesn’t love a good, rustic, country-chic wedding! Jena & Pend took it up a notch by playing up the romance factor + incorporating lots of unique + personal + fun details. A boat ride, school bus, worm eating contest, speeches, that killer lakefront ceremony backdrop, the cutest dog of honor, many new friendships, and best of all seeing Jena so happy - those are my favorite memories. Meeting Pend, Scott and Sarah for the first time was also a pretty incredible and definite crowd-pleaser! It was nice to finally put faces to the names and I couldn’t be more excited about Pend & Jena’s future. Happy first anniversary! See you back in Montana in nine years (wink wink).
